10.03.2011 - EXAM OVER...! What next...?

Now that your exams are done for this semester, what do you plan to do next?
It is a bit sad that you have to begin the Second Semester works on the 11th of March (Damn, No 'Break'!). Trust you will be able to make the most of your New Year break.

Any thoughts about your 'First Semester'?

Any suggestions about the 'Second'?

Hopefully you will get in to your 'Thesis Mood' soon while engaging positively with the next Design Project.

  1. well i think most of the teachers are in this department are pre programed programs...
it is sad to say all of us fucked up.

we expect more mature thinking from our senior teachers.there are some great young lecturers.any way... now we are in the university, and we have to end this course...because of that we are doing this...

personally i am fedup with whats happening

  2. as for tharindu's comment - Yes, lecterers are somewhat pre programmed nowadays. if you come in to the lecture hall thinking that the students have not done their work - you will see it that way. but if u can come to a lecture hall thinking "lets see what the students have done, and we'll develope it from there", then we have something productive to talk abt. when lecturers and students loose faith in eachother, it becomes very unproductive. which is what i beleive as happening. Personally i have no interest in explaining something to a person who has a pre occupied mind and is NOT listening.
As for semester two- the project introduced seems very interesting- but how it is handled will define how enjoyable it is. so far - not good!
    well...
    we are ever hopeful
the last thing i want to be here is synical(we seem to have too much of it these days). if only we can think of how to contribute to beterment this destructive situation it would be better for the future of the department. but it is a process to be handled from both end, not a process of pointing fingers

  3. i think having three groups for the three projects is pointless...

you will see same presentation from each group because all the projects are within walking distance. and most of the regulations will be the same. the only thing that chang will be the site specific datas and the briefs...

if to have a productive work, i think having six group from the batch studying the five given study area and the other one for the model would be more productive and we can avoid repetition of data. and also would cut down unnessecary work for students.
A properly structured progarm is not merely a statment of submission dates, but also an explanation of process of how work is done.

  4. What you say about group studies are valid. Will it be possible for the six groups to sit together and share their work and information and organize the presentations so that we can avoid repetitions.

Sometimes, being 'cynical' can be a good thing than being 'resigned' from all we do at university.

Senior students should try to 'carve-out' and 'exploit' the possibilities that are hidden within the 'system'... If they don't try, then they will never know whether it is possible or not.

  6. i believe being resigned is also a way of being cynical. one can avoid being involved because either he doesn't want to go through the trouble of being involved, or just because he doesn't believe or he doesn't have interest in what is happening or is not allowed to be involved.None of this is inducible of anything positive
